Cordeel Nederland has completed six new butter tempering chambers in Vlissingen-Oost for Lineage. The project was delivered within four months and combined a tight schedule with specialised knowledge of industrial construction, cooling, freezing storage, and conditioned spaces.
The tempering chambers are designed for the controlled warming of deep-frozen butter pallets. In doing so, a large cold mass must be gradually and evenly brought to the desired processing temperature, without loss of quality or unwanted product movement. This requires an integrated design in which architectural and technical disciplines are closely coordinated.
The six chambers are tailored to Lineage's logistical processes. The first three chambers each hold 24 euro pallets or 20 block pallets; the remaining three chambers have a capacity of 28 euro pallets or 24 block pallets each.
Because the installations were integrated into an existing hall, the project started with modifications to the underground infrastructure. Cordeel carried out cutting work on the concrete floor, rerouted existing drainage, and installed new drainage systems. This was followed by the installation of steel structures, insulated walls, and other structural elements.
Thanks to careful preparation, close collaboration with partners, and tight project coordination, the project was completed within the planned timeframe, says Cordeel Nederland on LinkedIn.
