A new lifeline between the Netherlands and France

Did you know that the new gateway to Paris is actually based in the Netherlands? Last year, the new lock in the port of Terneuzen was inaugurated. At the same time, a brand-new 107 km waterway is under construction in Northern France: the Canal Seine-North Europe (CNSE). Together, these infrastructure projects form the backbone of the Seine-Scheldt network.

‘A new lifeline’. That is how the French describe the new canal. The corridor between Rotterdam and Paris will become a shipping highway for both cargo and passenger flows, unlocking a sea of sustainable business opportunities, from modal shift to river cruise.

Our member, Zéfranco, is based in the beautiful province of Zeeland, perfectly located between the Netherlands and France. Zéfranco can therefore act as your full-service business support partner along this new lifeline, from exploring and structuring new ventures to setting up entities, facilitating cross-border cooperation, ensuring compliance, and posting workers. They also provide practical, tailor-made Franco-Dutch language and culture training so that your teams can truly work together across borders from day one.

With more than 30 years of experience in transport and logistics they are ready to help develop your business ideas and would be happy to meet with any pioneers on this topic. Their advice: Don’t wait until the new canal is open, explore your opportunities now, because building a business in France simply takes more time than in the Netherlands. Don’t miss the boat!
