Draftec has completed, tested and delivered its new in-house development: the Oval Loading Arm, an exciting milestone project that enables efficient loading and unloading of subsea cables.
The new oval loading arm has been designed especially for coiling subsea power cables into both round and oval storage baskets. It is a remotely operated, electric-driven system that is capable of handling cables up to 400 mm in diameter and 90 kg/m. The Oval Loading Arm fits seamlessly onto standard 10ft, 20ft, and 40ft container foundations and is verified according to DNVGL-ST-0378, with additional reference to DNVGL-ST-N001.

- Coiling diameter up to 24 meters
- Travel distance of 9 meters
- Fully transportable and foldable design
- Modular arm construction that fits in standard 20ft containers
