Maaskade Group announces a transformative step towards sustainability by bunkering renewable fuel across their barges Trivento, Vertigo and new-build Spartivento. These three inland barges are part of the fleet of Maaskade Group member Mariliq and are chartered by Stolt-Nielsen Inlander Tanker Service.
In a recent statement, Stolt-Nielsen Inland Tanker Service announced that they will bunker all barges within their fleet – more than 30 in total – with renewable fuel.
This renewable fuel is called HVO20 and is an 80/20 blend of hydrotreated vegetable oil, which is expected to reduce carbon emissions from the SNITS fleet by around 18%, compared to the ultra-low Sulphur diesel (ULSD) fuel that is traditionally used.
