The municipality of Terneuzen is a hive of economic activity. The seaport town of Terneuzen forms the economic heart of the region due to its central function. The location of the town on the Westerschelde and the canal zone between Ghent and Terneuzen present good opportunities to industrial and port-related businesses. At the same time it offers a safe and spacious living environment with plenty of greenery and water, and a wide range of facilities. Terneuzen has 14 towns and a population of approximately 54,000 people.
About 450 people are working at the municipal organisation. Together we work to create and maintain a good and safe environment. Terneuzen focuses on cooperation with other organisations, also across borders.
